When I wrote this, it was Friday morning of the season finale for The Mandalorian and no - I hadn't watched it yet! Believe me, my plan was to do that first thing after work.
I have always had a soft spot for cute things, and let's be real: Baby Yoda (name redacted because spoilers) is about as cute as it gets. I also admit to having a bit of a weakness for clever things like little creatures that live on your computer desktop or, since the innovation of things like Pokemon Go, critters you can find lurking in everyday places like, say, your living room.
I remember back in 2003 when Lilo and Stitch came out, Disney released a digital desktop Stitch friend that you could install and play around with on your PC. Seriously, this was a thing:
Anyway, I digress. Back to Baby Yoda. Google revealed last week that searching for "Baby Yoda" and other related names would bring up an option to view him in 3D. I verified this for myself (you may need to make sure you have the Google search app installed, depending on your device) and admit to being perhaps a little overly excited about him gracing the area next to my Christmas tree.
Here's what you need to do:
- Open Google.com in the browser of an iOS or Android device
- Search for “The Child,” “Baby Yoda” or [SPOILERS].
- Scroll down until the “View in 3D” button appears. Tap it, then the “View in your space” button.
- Wait until the camera view pops up, then adjust your camera until he appears.
- Make sure your volume is turned up!

It may be just a silly little thing, but hey - it's the silly little thing we need in 2020, let's be honest. Stardock is going on break for a couple of weeks starting tomorrow, so I wish everyone a safe and healthy holiday season and a hopeful New Year. Be well, everyone!
