Stardock released a new program to customize the Windows mouse cursor today. CursorFX allows users to customize the Windows mouse cursor to one that is much higher resolution, more responsive, and supports animation and effects.

CursorFX v4 adds support for Windows 10 and high DPI displays, supports 144hz or higher refreshes, and includes new cursors that take advantage of these new features. The new CursorFX is compatible with the thousands of cursors from previous versions that are available on WinCustomize.com.

"The standard Windows cursor technology in Windows dates back to Windows NT," said Brad Wardell, CEO of Stardock. "CursorFX v4 is designed to take advantage of the advances Windows PCs have made over the past several years, including high DPI support and high refresh rate monitors, while giving users the option to visually change their mouse cursors to one that suits their tastes."

CursorFX 4 is now available through Stardock for $4.99.  CursorFX also comes with Stardock's Object Desktop suite. Visit www.cursorfx.com to learn more.

Hi Sean, is the new ( v4 ) version included in the old subscription for v2, or do you have to pay & download it separately ?

Hello,

I'll try to answer you on that. As far as I know, if you said subscription. Its on ObjectDesktop subscription. If that is it. And if your subscription for ObjectDesktop still active, than yes, CursorFX v4 should be available to you. But if you purchased individual license for CursorFX v2 than no. You will need to purchase another license for CursorFX v4.

Thank you,

Thanks, Basj. From what I'm reading, I think I'll wait before I upgrade. I bought the standalone program, not Objectdesktop.

Installed the latest version of CursorFX4_4.03. It was not good, choppy etc. Uninstalled and went back to CursorFX Plus 2.10. Works much better now, Smooth and clear. Effects, not so much.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. For the choppy issue try disable shadow. Most of the animated cursors come with its own shadows anyway. What other issue your have?

Thanks
