Get It Now

Stardock released a new program to customize the Windows mouse cursor today. CursorFX allows users to customize the Windows mouse cursor to one that is much higher resolution, more responsive, and supports animation and effects.

CursorFX v4 adds support for Windows 10 and high DPI displays, supports 144hz or higher refreshes, and includes new cursors that take advantage of these new features. The new CursorFX is compatible with the thousands of cursors from previous versions that are available on WinCustomize.com.

"The standard Windows cursor technology in Windows dates back to Windows NT," said Brad Wardell, CEO of Stardock. "CursorFX v4 is designed to take advantage of the advances Windows PCs have made over the past several years, including high DPI support and high refresh rate monitors, while giving users the option to visually change their mouse cursors to one that suits their tastes."

CursorFX 4 is now available through Stardock for $4.99.  CursorFX also comes with Stardock's Object Desktop suite. Visit www.cursorfx.com to learn more.

I installed this latest version and using animated cursors but, disappointed in it. I think this has made my computer slower and I sometimes have to mouse click 2 or even 3 times for the click action takes effect. I'll use it for some more time, but not happy with it at the moment.

I clicked on the link, and it updated object desktop, but it is missing, why won't someone help us with this?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Sorry, not seeing your issue on my system. More information needed.

1) Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.

2) CursorFX version.

3) Is the issue Cursor style dependent or it happen on all animated cursors? List us a few that you're having issue with so we can verify it.

Thanks

I have the exact same issue with custom animated curors (Not built in cursors) it very slow responding when using my animated cursors. But i FIXED that by going to "Settings>Shadow" and checked the Disable checkbox that fixed all problems. So what i want to know why should i disable this Option in order to get my cursors working properly? And are you going to address this issue and fix it?

Thanks in advance!

As I've mentioned above, I am not seeing the issue and I believe others also the same. So we are trying to see the real issue here. Please post details so we could understand the issue, perhaps recreate the issue and solve it as soon as possible. Please give us more information.

Ok, I want to split these out of this thread to its own:

Hnagy78

I already installed the new version 4.3 and yes Effects & Trails are there now but my big problem now is the animated cursors that are extremely very heavy to use at the end i uninstalled CursorFx 4 because i purchased many animated cursors and i should use them and Re installed the OLD v2.16 again until you find a solution to fix CFX 4

I have done so here:
https://forums.stardock.com/499371/cursorfx-4-effects-performance-issue

Please post there if you are seeing performance issues with effects applied.

@venkum, I need you to report there if - like Hnagy - disabling shadows (then apply) works to resolve your issue.

I recieved the email for CursorFX, clicked on the link and it downloaded maybe a newer version of object desktop which i installed, and CursorFX is not there.  Uninstalled Object desktop, ran ccleaner, reinstalled object desktop using the link provided, and Cursor FX is still not there.  Emailed customer service, and they apparently don't even read what you write, because they told me how to retrieve my product keys.

I am running windows 10 enterprise professional 64b

Why must the old-version be first uninstalled?

Reading all the comments i think i first wait a little while before installing this new version.

First the bugs must be solved and make it possible to update instead of first uninstall the old version.

Windows 10, just like the other guy that has the exact same problem.

What same problem - performance issues with effects?

If so, please post here"

I have but one issue left with CFX4.  The config dialog on the effects and trails tabs have a white background which makes it hard to see the effects you're choosing from. Any chance of fixing that, or giving a light/dark option?

Hello everyone

I had version 2.16 installed and working perfectly.

I wanted to upgrade to version 4 and when I try to register with the key of the old version it says that the key is not valid.

Can or can not upgrade and how?

Thank you

on Apr 10, 2020

If you have ObjectDesktop, it's included. If you only had CursorFX 2.16 then it's a paid upgrade.
