Get It Now

Stardock released a new program to customize the Windows mouse cursor today. CursorFX allows users to customize the Windows mouse cursor to one that is much higher resolution, more responsive, and supports animation and effects.

CursorFX v4 adds support for Windows 10 and high DPI displays, supports 144hz or higher refreshes, and includes new cursors that take advantage of these new features. The new CursorFX is compatible with the thousands of cursors from previous versions that are available on WinCustomize.com.

"The standard Windows cursor technology in Windows dates back to Windows NT," said Brad Wardell, CEO of Stardock. "CursorFX v4 is designed to take advantage of the advances Windows PCs have made over the past several years, including high DPI support and high refresh rate monitors, while giving users the option to visually change their mouse cursors to one that suits their tastes."

CursorFX 4 is now available through Stardock for $4.99.  CursorFX also comes with Stardock's Object Desktop suite. Visit www.cursorfx.com to learn more.

Wanted to download it, but it's missing from Object Desktop on my computer. I have the latest software, and I've enabled "show betas", so I don't know what's going on.

Added to Object Desktop--Cool!

im not going to buy it until everything is actually working like the version i have now.....

I uninstall my CursorFX version 2.16 to install the new one with my Object desktop subscription.

First  think that happened is that i could not resize my actall cursor. the configure box cursor resizes but my desktop pointer is really small at 2160p.

Second think that happens after i reboot. when i sign into my window 8 account. I only see the default microsoft cursor. no custom cursor that I had applied. When I try to bring up my object dock my PC freezes and I have to cold reboot to get back to uninstalling the new cursorFX

I'm glad I have sworn off betas. Even releases I will avoid until I see that everyone is ok with it.

All Animated Cursors still not usable unlike version 2.16 everything was working extremely smoother than this release

PLEASE PLEASE take a look at animated cursors and try to make them run smoothly exactly like you did with CursorFx 2.16

There was an issue with the initially released version - it was fixed an hour after.  If you download / install again, effects and trails will be there.

Sorry for the confusion.

What does this mean, 'heavy to use'?

Sorry for my bad English. When i said heavy i meant that the animated cursors are not usable when i install an animated cursor the movements are extremely slow and lag  even when i return to the default Windows pointer by pressing Ctrl+Shift+C it take a while to do also the sound effects with the animated  cursors are heard after very long time when i click on anything. So i sadly returned to version 2.16 since i have no issues using it. Again sorry for my bad English.

Thank you!

Please.

On my own, 4 core box, while there is a slight uptick (not unexpected) in CPU usage, it is not noticeable nor is there a performance hit.

How many CPU cores does your PC have:

If it is noticeably sluggish, I wonder if you have another 3rd party app that may be conflicting with CursorFX.  Have you tried a clean boot - then only trying CFX after?
