Stardock announced the next-generation version of its Windows® cursor customization application, CursorFX 4, today. With CursorFX, Windows users can instantly change their default mouse cursor on their computer with animated and themed cursor designs.

CursorFX makes it easy for Windows users to customize their mouse cursors by applying skins, shadows, motion trails, and sounds. Users can also import .PNG files into the CursorFX theme editor to create brand new cursors from scratch.

The new version of CursorFX adds support for Windows 10 and high DPI monitors, several new cursor packs, and more. Thousands of additional cursors are also available for download on WinCustomize.com.

"We wanted to bring better cursor customization options to Windows 10 users," said Brad Wardell, CEO of Stardock. "CursorFX has a ton of options for animations, special effects, and sound effects, as well as a robust customization community filled with thousands of users around the world.”

CursorFX 4 will be released soon to all users for $4.99. The beta version is available now for subscribers to Stardock's Windows enhancement suite, Object Desktop. Visit www.cursorfx.com to learn more.

Ok, but how did we get there - what was the trigger / change? Was it at 280, 281, ... or a specific sound package?
Not sure I understand the question.  Sound Package?  Sound Packager has no effect on load time, just no sounds.  As for trigger, it isn't every time. Sometimes it loads without the extra wait for the busy cursor to finish.  It always takes too long to load.  The more I add, the slower it gets.

In the end, it's taking about 45 seconds to show a dialog window, then another 30 or so waiting for the window to become active (sometimes, not always).  I am certain it has to do with the sheer number of cursors I have because the reverse is true. Remove some, it gets faster.   But I need to be able to use all my cursors.

There is no pressure here, RND, you don't have to do this.  While it is appreciated, if you would rather just use CFX2 until CFX4 is out of the oven, that's perfectly acceptable.
I know, Sean, I just get frustrated. Adding 500 plus cursors one at a time is tedious to say the least.

I need to help because, as far as I know, I'm the only one with the issues.  A release version may not help me if I don't help you.  The reason I keep saying CFX2 works fine here is that I thought the statement may cause you to look at your changes to find the culprit.  Makes sense to me that if CFX2 works fine, and CFX4 does not, then some change you guys made is the issue.  Not anything I will ever find on my end.

Hey RedneckDude, if you up for a little bit more work, you could throw all your cursors in a zip file and email them to me, then I can add them to my CFX4 and see if I get the same issue as you having ?  Let me know if you up for that and I can message you my email address.

Tom, not sure that's allowed.  They aren't mine to share. Some are paid cursors.

RND.  Ahh right, didn't think of that !

Ohh well, then that idea is out of the window.   Thought it give me something to do, but trying and download 1k cursors is not my idea of fun hence my not so brilliant idea of a zip file of it all to help out.  Sorry !

my issue is the animation transition of the cursors flicker alot.  especially when the size is increased more than the default cursor sizes of the varied large small variants.  this is with beta 2.  so if the cursor is static, fine it just be static for normal pointing, the animations of the diagonal, vertical/horizontal cursors, flick flick flicks.  if the normal pointing is an animated, it flickers and lack of the smooth smooth smoother looping animations.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you tried the latest version that Sean just announced yesterday in reply#110. Try it and report back on that thread. Please also post some video so we can see the issue more clearly.

Thanks
