Stylize your desktop with what’s included in the app or browse thousands of user-created skins from WinCustomize.com. “This app has been a cornerstone of our software for a long time,” said Brad Sams, Vice President of Stardock Software. “We are thrilled to be releasing the newest version with several highly requested updates, including a new automatic dark mode and improved high DPI support for new skins.”

New in WindowBlinds 11:

  • Automatic dark mode
  • Improved high-DPI support for new skins
  • Marketplace browser for exploring skin libraries
  • Support for widgets on the taskbar
  • Support for file explorer with tabs
  • Works on Windows 10 and all versions of Windows 11

WindowBlinds 11 comes equipped with an in-app browser to make it even easier to find new skins to download and the user interface has been refreshed, too. In addition to being designed to work with all announced versions of Windows 11, support for widgets on the taskbar and for tabs in File Explorer is also included in this release.

“Windows 11 introduced a new design language for the OS but we know it’s not for everyone,” Sams said. “With WindowBlinds 11, you can enjoy the benefits of a modern OS, but also the flexibility to customize the interface to fit your own personal theme.”

Hello ,

After StardockBlinds is finally available for WIN 11, I tested it extensively. A few comments that caught my eye.

For one, it's very slow.

Are there too few designs that are optimized for WIN 11, i.e. almost none.

If the pixels are very imprecise - click on the cross to close and reduce the window.

Should be written with the blinds whether they are suitable for WIN 11 or not. Because not every WIN 10 blind is also suitable for WIN 11. Unfortunately, I have to say that many blinds that I have been able to test in the last few days are jerky and the graphics are very imprecise. So shifted by 1-10 pixels.

When are you experiencing slowness?

Also we would need more information on the imprecise issue as nobody else has reported anything like that so far so knowing the skin or app would be most useful.

Support for widgets on the taskbar
Can you please expound on that?

well, I see you got rid from support win 7 and win 8.1, sorry, I hate this idea of pushing win7/8.1 users up to newer o.s. when there are people still using them.

Personally, if you still running Win 7 or Win 8.1, Which I am currently have Win 7 still running. There is no need at all for you to upgrade Windowblinds 10 to 11. WB10 still work well in it.

Thank you,

Ok, that's fine, thanks.

Only I hope Stardock do not delete their old version's download links for those win7/8 users. That could be fine also.

You should always keep backup of installers for all programs you use on another disk.

There seems to be a problem with the BetterAero7x theme on Windows 10 on 150% dpi scaling. The window frames are stretched extremely on the left and right side in the horizontal orientation. Strangely, this only happens on 150% dpi, not with any other dpi scaling. I tested it on two separate devices. Maybe it is a bug, or something is wrong with the theme. I hope it can be fixed.

That's a theme specific issue, and is not a bug in Windowblinds. Your question has been answered in the commets by the author of the skin. [Link]

I already found a solution for that problem. I just had to make the middle section of the images larger for it to work correctly.

I've been having trouble with WB11 crashing the taskbar, repeatedly, which goes on to affect the computer until I have to reboot.  I'm running Windows 11 home, version 21H2.  I hope we can fix this?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Can we have full Windows version number please. Use Winver.exe. Also does the crash stop if you use different WB theme?

Thank you.

So, winver.exe tells me that I have Windows 11 version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.1098).  When I check this in WB "about", it says:

Windows 11 Core 21H2 (22000.co_release.210604-1628)
WindowBlinds 11.00 BETA (007 x64 - Windows 11 Edition) - 64 bit OS

The crash only stops if I set WB back to the default theme, or if I reboot the computer.

Another thing, not sure if it's related, but I'm having problems with Fences 4.0.7.2; it disables itself when I reboot, and I have to re-enable it every time.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled, but no change.

Can you create a new thread so that we can try to help you from there. Include all the relevant information within that new thread please.
