Things and stuff and things.

They were on their own.

Jenna Casey and the rest of the humans who would eventually be known as the Terran Resistance were not on Earth when the Precursor Shield was erected to protect them all from the Drengin. Abandoned by their people and with nothing but a few ships and their own wit to sustain them, the Terran Resistance wandered the galaxy for many years avoiding the Drengin and their other enemies.

Finally, fortune favored them with a safe refuge near the far rim of the galaxy. The Terran Resistance began to rebuild, and even dared to hope for a day where they might be able to return to their homes on Earth.

Years on the run left them resourceful, with vast talents for ship recycling, asteroid mining, and cover operations - but it also left them hardened and mistrustful, especially against their fellow humans who left them stranded on the other side of the shield.

It was a schism that would take time - and effort - to heal.

The Terran Resistance’s core ideology is creativity. They believe that their government will only succeed by utilizing the applied focus of its citizens, an ideal that is unsurprising given how long they have managed to thrive while fleeing a terrible danger.

Their resourcefulness allows them to start with some extra bonus resources and their unrelenting and indomitable nature gives them extra control and an additional +1 influence generated per turn.

They start with a colony and a survey ship (good thing, too - I couldn’t believe my luck when I found this class 24 planet right near my starting point when I began a game this morning!) and are particularly adept at resisting invasions. Their military background grants them even more control and their veteran status as warriors and survivors lets them gain experience more quickly.

The Terran Resistance  is one of over a dozen civilizations available in Galactic Civilizations IV, which released on April 26th. If you aren’t playing the game yet, you can get it here. Have you tried out the Terran Resistance yet? Tell me about your playthrough!
