Nobody likes a delay, but Disney has unfortunately had to push back the release of Andor by about three weeks. The trailer for the show dropped yesterday and the new date of September 21st was announced.
Disney or Lucas Film haven't given any reason for the delay, but they did announce that the first drop for Andor will include three episodes - something that is, thus far, unprecedented of a Disney+ show release. This decision probably has something to do with the show's episode count for its first season: there are 12 in total.
If you're unfamiliar with the premise of Andor, it takes place 5 years before the events of Rogue One and follows the exploits of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) as he grows into a Rebel spy. The TV show will also show the growth of the Rebel Alliance as it morphs into a band of resistance fighters who attempt to battle against the Galactic Empire.
The series is already renewed for a second season, so don't expect to get closure within those first 12 episodes! Tony Gilroy penned the screenplay for Rogue One and is Andor's showrunner, while Toby Haynes, Susanna White, and Benjamin Caron have split directing duties.
