We know that the people at Valve have quite the sense of humor. 

This year's summer sale has come and gone, but that leaves us with a fun little present: Valve shared with us all the fake video game key art and covers that were hidden inside Steam's massive digital catalog as part of a scavenger hunt style game.

Valve developer Claire Hummel - who worked previously on games like Half-Life: Alyx and Westworld Awakening VR - created the images for all of the fake games that were hidden throughout the Summer Sale's offerings. Now that the sale has passed, she took to Twitter to share the art with everyone.

According to Hummel, the idea behind the art was to make it look convincing enough to blend in with the thousands of other games on Steam, but off just enough for someone to notice something was a little weird at a second glance. Two longtime Valve writers - Erik Wolpaw and Jay Pinkerton - created the game's names and handed them off to Hummel for her artistic stylings.

“I just tried to match their energy in the final art,” Hummel explained in a tweet. “Super fun trying to make plausibly polished logos in a whole bunch of different styles/genres.”

Thing is, absurd as some of these are - I'd play them! Anyone else miss the days of Portal and Half-Life? I know I do. I shared some of my favorites down below. If you'd like to see Hummel's tweets for yourself, check them out here.
