Faith. Unity. Devotion.
These ideals make up the core of the Krynn Syndicate and all that they believe. A somewhat unique civilization, the Krynn are comprised of a variety of species who all find themselves united by a shared religion.
Where the might of the Krynn Syndicate really shines is with its citizens, who can come from anywhere. Their diversity - which, ironically, is found amid their unity - provides them with many advantages since they can make use of the strengths of each individual’s species. The flipside is that they also come with all the weaknesses of each, but they believe, at least, that their faith makes them stronger than their shortcomings.
The Krynn are a devout people and start with a cleric citizen and a Krynniac Temple on their homeworld. Every time they add to their ideology, their culture grows, which makes them a dangerous force against other influences in the galaxy.
They have been professing their faith and converting citizens for far longer than anyone can remember. Exceptionally good at what they do, the Krynn start the game with 50 control points and access to coordination technologies that other civilizations don’t.
Productive and influential, the Krynn receive bonuses to building improvements and expanding their borders. If you’re playing against the Krynn Syndicate in a game, you’d better watch out - their expansion will creep up on you before you know it!
While their influence is powerful, they are not known for their military strength. The Krynn have learned to fight from the shadows, instead spreading their faith through whispered promises of salvation rather than outward shows of might.
This collection of faithful sentient beings all united by a shared religion share one core tenet: salvation will not be achieved until all sentient life in the galaxy follows the Way of the Krynn. They never waste an opportunity to convert non-believers and add them to their collective, strengthening their numbers as well as their mission.
In recent years, however, a secretive criminal organization has seized the reins of power in the Krynn’s civilization. Known as the Syndicate, they pursue the Way of the Krynn through some more…sinister… paths than the peaceful language their religion might otherwise suggest.
The Krynn Syndicate is one of over a dozen civilizations available in Galactic Civilizations IV, which is in beta right now! If you haven’t joined the beta yet, you can get more information on that here. If you’re already playing, let me know what your favorite civilization is and if you’ve tried the Krynn Syndicate yet!
