Things and stuff and things.
There's still a little bit of time left!

Happy New Year! Hopefully all of you have had a safe and restful holiday season. It's back to work for all of us here at Stardock, but believe me: I got quite a lot of playtime in during my break!

My backlog of games is such that I didn't buy too much during the sale, but I still snagged a few things at some pretty great prices. I finally picked up Star Wars Battlefront II and, although I'm not such a great shot (at least I'm true to Stormtrooper lore when playing as an Imperial!) I've been having a lot of fun playing it in a squad with my friends.

I grabbed Divinity Original Sin II for a friend of mine so we could start a campaign together. I've never actually completed a playthrough of this game, to be honest - it feels like I've started and restarted dozens of games. I could probably recite the entire beginning area from memory, lol.

The game I've logged the most hours in recently is actually one I purchased during the Autumn Sale toward the end of November. Anyone out there playing Phasmophobia? I know I've said before that I am absolutely terrified by horror games, and this one is no exception - for the first two weeks or so I couldn't play too close to bedtime and there were at least a few nights where I slept with my lights on.

Now, nearly 350 levels and over 100 hours later, I'm desensitized to it mostly, though that doesn't prevent the occasional startled yell or the goosebumps I still get every time a ghost responds to us via the Ouija board. If you love a good game to play with friends and appreciate a good spook, consider checking it out - note, though, that it's a one-man dev team and still in early access!

What did you pick up during the sale and/or what have you been playing lately? If the answer is "nothing" or "not enough," you still have another day! The sale ends at 1pm ET tomorrow.

Bought a few old games I played a long time ago so that I can have them in my Steam collection, namely Hard to Be a God, a rather interesting RPG that is a mix of fantasy and science-fiction, Silverfall and its standalone expansion Earth Awakening, M.A.X. 1 and 2, A Vampyre Story, Cultures - Northland, Mobile Forces, several games in the Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series, Gunlok, and the Build An Empire Collection bundle for Zoo Empire and Warlords Battlecry III.

Purchased Lode Runner Legacy because I have fond memories of playing the original with my cousin.

Bought Eiyu*Senki – The World Conquest, rather fun and challenging at times. Conquering Russia before the EU was somewhat annoying.

Purchased Sentinels of Freedom because it reminds me of the Freedom Force series.

Also bought Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry, the 2 games in the The Spirit of Eternity Sword series, some DLC for Bioshock Infinite and HITMAN, and the entries I didn't have in the Cossacks series.

Received Devil May Cry 5 from a Secret Santa event I participated in.

After seeing your post that the sale was still on, I picked up Fallout 4 GOTY Edition.

I picked up that 'entertaining' game called...."your computer hardware has multiple fails and will cost you heaps of angst and time and money to fix".

So far.....

Intel i7 5960x socket LGA2011v3 CPU

Logitech X530 speakers

ASUS Strix GTX980 GPU

Total cost to date to resolve....$988 AUD

It's all fun until somebody gets hurt....

I picked up Destiny 2's new expansion, Skyrim VR, DwarfHeim, Paradigm and I got the Deus Ex DLC I was missing.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (on GOG), plus Hunter/Prey and Secret Missions DLCs for Ashes of the Singularity (and the e-book).

I bought:

'My Time in Portia'

and just today...

'Ticket to Ride' and all of its DLC: Have the board game for it, and also own it on iOS. Nice that it offers cross-platform playing, now I can do a quick multiplayer turn at work on my PC, play on my iPad easily in the PM while watching tv or doing other things. And of course we play the board game itself at family gatherings. Great game!

I love Ticket to Ride! I didn't actually realize that it offered cross-platform playing, so that's awesome to know. I love the music in the digital version, it's very catchy, haha!

Some other board games turned video that I'd highly recommend are Pandemic, Takenoko, and Splendor. I've been slowly acquiring ones that I like and trying to convince my friends to do the same.

Thanks @Tatiora, I'll have to take a look at those other game titles. Always on the lookout for something cool to play.

Only bought two DLC's, Ragnarök and Atlantis, for Titan Quest Anniversary Edition which I started playing yesterday (from Steam).  Having fun so far so will see how far it takes me.

Edit: Also ended up buying Stardew Valley from GOG on an impulse last night before going to bed.

That time I finally bought Skyrim and already spent 100+ hours playing in it. Absolutely amazing atmosphere and great graphics even for 2021.
