The Massive v1.2 Update is Here

Newly Enhanced Campaign, New Units, Substantial UI and AI improvements,
Global Chat, and much more!

 The v1.2 update contains a slew of changes and improvements to the base game. We have been reading and listening to all of the user feedback that our community has been giving us and have used it to continue to make Ashes of the Singularity an even better game since its release. For a complete list of all of what's new in v1.2, see the change log at the bottom of the post.

Here are some highlights from the update: 

New Enhanced Campaign
We've really beefed up the campaign with this update. Since release, we have added 3 missions to this mode, and v1.2 brings fully voiced dialogue and new cut scenes.
 
     
  New Unit: The Eradicator
This new long-range Substrate cruiser may be slow moving and a little expensive, but its attack power is devastating. In addition to its heavy weaponry, the Eradicator is extremely difficult to kill.
     
New Unit: The Athena
This new short-range PHC cruiser is small, fast, and armed with high energy laser bolts, thermal lasers, and a plasma bolt cannon.
 
     
  New Global Chat
The new Global Chat channel makes it possible for gamers around the world to see who's playing at all times. Finding opponents to play against has never been easier.
     
Substantial UI and AI Improvements
We have made some adjustments to the late-game AI strategies and now allow players to choose the AI's "personality" in Skirmish mode. v1.2 also brings skirmish map sorting, the ability to add friends from the multiplayer lobby, more informative tool tips within the Army Unit panel, and more.

I am unaware if this is the proper thread to give feedback and share problems with the current patch but since I see none more suitable:

- Visual bugs - black bubbles attacking Turinium generator with Drone MRV spawned on Deneb. 
- Visual - flickering below constructors while building anything with zoom out above a certain point.
- 2 out of my 4 games after the patch my keyboard did not work - no shortcuts no anything.

The good:

 

-The sounds are more clear

-Scrolling feels much better (change?)

-Graphics look sharper and not so blurry 

-Eradicator seeems to be more unique (nemesis)

 

 

The problemes:

 

-I had a screenfreezer in the game but windows works normally. I had some programms open (bandicam moviemaker) and recorded the game.

-F3 sometimes does not work.

-Selecting units sometimes does not  work.

-Soundbug after ending the game.

-Imbalance in the maps still exist

-Sound is sometimes really quiet sometimes stuttering

-Athena is too much like the Mauler

-Description in german is missing if there is a translation the translation has mistakes Cruiser -> Kreuzer front -> Front

-Transition from left to the right over a soundsource is really heaviside and not soft

 -Aircraft still horrible to handle

-Balance problems by playing PHC vs Sub on small maps (on large maps as well)

-Stopping Sub aircraft against PHC aircraift results in fury not using main weapons

-Graphical artifacts with R9 390x

-large stutter every few minutes by recording with bandicam and playing (not sure if the lag occurs without recording)

-capping queue with sentries and medics does not work

-tasking while recording with bandicam forces a crash of AOTS

 

 

Conclusion:

 

-very nice patch we want to see more of that

Please note that if the general chat window is let open when the game starts, the keyboard  can no longer be used during game. It is kind of a dealbreaker, The fix is to hit escape after using chat!.

Ah good to know, sounds like that is the reason behind the keyboard problem mentioned by Danail.
